Phantastic

For those who haven't heard the good news, September 30, 2007 was a very special day. The Philadelphia Phillies, the source of my unending sports-related depression (and subject of my 2nd ever blog post), ended a decade and a half slump by winning the NL East.

It gets better. Once the other 7 teams in the playoffs saw that the Phillies had made it, they immediately conceded defeat and awarded the Phils the Championship for the year.

Admitting that they had a long way to go to be as good as the Phillies, these teams will use the "playoffs" as additional practice to hopefully, but also doubtfully, achieve that goal.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

P.S. Hey, the Irish won! I told you teams out there to beat us while you still could.
